Thousands of job seeking Nigerians thronged to LTV ground in Alausa, Ikeja to apply as "Street sweeper" for the Cleaner Lagos initiative. Among the thousands were mostly elderly women, young men and women and the deaf and dumb too.

The recruitment process which lasted for two days culminated yesterday, Friday. Every applicant came with the high hopes of clinching one of the available job slots which are being contested for by over 15,000 job seekers.

Though Fabmimi could not confirm the number of available job slots but we were reliably informed that the number of applicants is way in the excess of the available slots.
