COLOURS AND EXCITMENT AT THE LAGOS STREET CARNIVAL
The Lagos street carnival which held yesterday at Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja was filled with colours and excitement.
the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, was represented by his deputy Mrs Oluranti Adebule. Other dignitaries at the event also included Royal fathers in lagos state, celebrities and others.
While speaking on behalf of the Governor, the deputy governor thanked all the royal fathers and the people of Lagos for coming out in their thousands to witness the carnival.
She said the carnival was fulfills the campaign promises of Governor Ambode who promised to move the economy of Lagos forward through entertainment. She however noted that the carnival is not just for entertainment because it also social and economic impact.

Some of the Local Government Areas and Councils in Lagos state took turns to perform in different that spiced up the whole event. At the end of their performances, Ikire-Ikate LCDA, Ikorodu LGA and Ojokoro LCDA were awarded the 1st, 2nd and 3rd trophies respectively for putting the best performances. The parade segment of the carnival was capped off by a cultural dance performance.
The carnival was co-hosted by Denrele, Toyin Aimaku and Jimmy of Beat FM. While DJ Spinall, Olamide, Ycee, Small Doctor, Osupa, 9ice and many others supplied music to the ecstatic crowd.
