Open Post ! Is this Bama Mayonnaise commercial teaching our kids to tell little lies? Your Opinion PleaseĀ

A Nigerian mum, Mrs Hetty Akaakar  has criticized the Bama mayonnaise commercials airing on some Tv stations, Hetty thinks this  ad teaches a child to lie, especially for something as small as a sandwich. She posted this on her Facebook page ,please read the post here

There is something pretty wrong with this Bama Mayonnaise commercial airing on some television stations.

There should be a good message in every piece of advertisement,  More so that it involves minors.

The little boy in this commercial forgets his lunch pack at home, his friend shares his sandwich with him, obviously prepared using Bama mayonnaise and he enjoys the piece.

The next day on sighting his friend at school, he hides his lunch pack and later lied he forgot it at home again.

Is this particular commercial teaching our kids to tell little lies? This is not good. I don't know how corrections are done on commercials that score low, but something needs to be done to correct this commercial. Btw I love bama mayonnaise.

What's your opinion?

For me the ad teaches children how to lie, I would have loved the child who forgot his lunch to ask his classmate to write down the name of the mayonnaise , then show it to his mother. Later, the mother then makes a sandwich (or another good recipe) that both boys can share when generous classmate forgets his.

When making ads that use children or are targeted at children, we must project the importance of being caring, proactive, inquisitive and honest because every child is an adult of tomorrow. Caring about others was the only good message I got from this ad.
