NAPTIP ARRESTS MAN WHO DISFIGURED HIS SON'S BODY WITH BARBED WIRE

Abdulmutalib Hamisu Ibrahim, 12yrs old son of Hamisu Ibrahim, 43yrs old carpenter who lives in Pyanko, near Karshi, an Abuja surburb woke up about a week ago feeling lively and elated. Little did the little boy know that his day will end at such a horrible note.

After dutifully helping his father at the carpentry workshop, young Abdulmutalib packed up and closed shop for the day and, sooner did he made his way home than his father who went home ahead of him called that he should hurry up and bring the keys to their home.

Little Abdulmutalib searched for the keys where he normally places it to no avail. On reaching home, he told his father he had misplaced the keys, and, all the fury of hell let loose! The father first grabbed the little boy, tied him up like a ram ready for slaughter, then picked up an old barbed wire and flogged the boy with vehemence, after which, he sent the bloodied boy out of the compound.

A passerby saw the battered little boy and quickly rushed him to the local clinic at Pyanko settlement Area and then informed the police post.

When NAPTIP got the information, the Director General dispatched the Rapid Response Squad to apprehend the father.

The little boy (Abdulmutalib) has been rescued and taken to the NAPTIP Medical facility where he is receiving treatment, while, the offending father has been arrested. Investigation is currently ongoing.
