The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fact finding team on alleged underage voting during February 10th council poll in Kano Friday dismissed the video footage as product that emanated from Kenya.

“all we have seen in the social media were pictures and videos that are not verifiable, some of them are not even in Nigeria, some are from Kenya elections which people are attributing to Nigeria,”

Engr. Abubakar Nahuce explained that “from what we have seen and discussed with you media men, none of you have seen any underage voter in the line or voting,” .

He disclosed that none of the stakeholders that includes civil society organisations and media presented evidence of underage voting during interaction with them.

He noted that the team would write its report and submit to INEC headquarters for further action, as he stressed that it has not discovered any evidence of underage voting during the last council poll in Kano .

The team while in Kano met with Kano Sate Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) Chairman, the media and other relevant stakeholders.
