I have no problem with Bauchi gov ―Dogara

SPEAKER of the House of Representatives, Barrister Yakubu Dogara has declared that there is no political rift between Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar and himself just as he also declares that he harbours no grudges against the state government.

The Speaker who stated this while fielding questions from Journalists while on a two working visit to Bauchi assured that he will not do anything that will scuttle the collective wish of the people of Bauchi state or any part thereof.

Yakubu Dogara further stated that the alleged frosty relationship he has with the state government was the figment of the imaginations of those that peddling the rumours.

He explained further that explained that all the struggles he has been championing are to better the lots of the people of Bauchi State and to find a more efficient way of enhancing the workings of the government.

It could be recalled that Speaker Dogara has been alleged to be harbouring ill-feelings against the state government on allegations of non-performance.

However, during the few minutes interview, Yakubu Dogara extolled the good virtues of the Governor and the operations of the government as well as commended the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Kawuwa Shehu Damina for staying close to him during the two days working visit.

The Speaker pointed out that in politics it is normal to bicker but that it doe not mean that the two are fighting stressing that quarrelling always strengthen rather than retard development in any democracy.

He commended the reception accorded him and members of his entourage throughout his stay despite being a son of the soil and appreciated all the glowing tributes given him during the visit.

The Speaker was in Bauchi to condole the Government and people of the state over the death of late Senator Ali Wakili the Senator who represented Bauchi South Senatorial district at the National Assembly which sad event occurred last month.

He described late Ali Wakili as an amiable gentleman who loves justice in all his transactions saying even though solemn but a dogged fighter when the interest of the common man is trampled upon.

He was at the Emir of Bauchi Palace to extend the condolences as well as at late Wakili’s House to comfort the family over the irreparable loss and prayed Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest.

During the two-day working visit, Yakubu Dagara also attended the marriage ceremony of the daughter of Alhaji Mohammed Bala Wunti of the NNPC where the Group Managing Director Maikanti Baru gave her out to the bridegroom at the Palace of the Emir of Bauchi.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly Kawuwa Shehu Damina who represented the State governor during the two-day working visit expressed appreciation to Yakubu Dogara for the visit and hoped that it would further cement the bond of unity and cohesion between the National Assembly and the government of Bauchi state.
