POPE FRANCIS PRAYS FOR CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY IN NIGERIA, CONDEMNS BENUE ATTACK
Pope Francis has condemned the recent spate of killings in Benue, including the attack on a church, in which 19 people were killed.
Speaking to a crowd during mass at St Peter’s Square, the supreme Pontiff decried the attacks, and prayed that the Nigerian Christian community find peace and harmony, in the midst of such violence.
Suspected herdsmen had stormed St Ignatius Quasi parish, Ayar-Mbalom in Gwer East local government area of Benue State on Tuesday April 24, killing two priests and 17 other worshippers.
