The anticipation is finally over: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are officially married. PHOTOS
The rumors and speculation have finally come to an end.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally said the two words that literally millions of people have been waiting months to hear:
"I DO!"
Yup, they sure do alright!
1. There Goes the Bride, Everyone!!
Meghan Markle walked down the aisle by Prince Charles!
2. The Where:
Markle and Harry exchanged vows at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. The nuptials took place on a Saturday, so British citizens did not need to leave work to cheer them on.
3. The When:
Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, arrived on the official scene at 6:42 a.m. EST, while Prince Charles arrived at 6:45 a.m to walk Markle down the aisle. The wedding began at 7:00 a.m.
4. The Who:
We could spend forever listing the celebrities that were in attendance, but among the A-Listers to have received invites: Serena Williams, George Clooney, The Spice Girls, Janina Gavankar and members of the Suits cast.
5. The Gown:
Simply stunning, don't you agree? Meghan went with a dress designed by Clare Waight Keller. The long-sleeve elegant gown had a shallow boat-neckline.
6. And What Did Harry Wear?
Military regalia. Check him out inside the chapel here
Meghan's five-meter veil featured hand embroidered designs representing flowers from every Commonwealth country.
3. The Tiara
As expected, Meghan also paid tribute to the royal women who came before her. The tiara that Meghan wore was provided by Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
4. A Little History
The diamond bandeau of the tiara was made in 1932. The brooch at its center was created way back in 1893
5. Woke Wedding
The ceremony reflected Harry and Meghan's social conscience in several ways. Meghan made a feminist statement by walking part-way down the aisle alone, and her dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller, Givenchy's first female artistic director.
6. The Bouquet
There's a bit of history hidden in Meghan's bouquet, as well. Each previous royal bride dating back to Queen Victoria planted a bit of myrtle from their own bouquet for use in future ceremonies.
