Benue Assembly opens for lawmakers
THE twenty-two members of the Benue State House of Assembly on Wednesday took over the assembly complex.
This is a sequence to the withdrawal of Policemen from the assembly complex.
Our correspondent who visited the assembly complex learnt that the officials’ members of the assembly were allowed access into the complex.
The new Speaker, Titus Uba who spoke to newsmen appreciated Nigerians for standing with the House and resisting the siege laid on the premises by the police.
“We have taken over the Assembly now and the normal adjourning date (August 21) still stands for us to continue to give Benue citizens the best legislation.
“The police have been withdrawn from the assembly complex. We thank all Nigerians for standing with us through the struggle for our democracy to thrive,” Uba said.
