Rivers State, the APC held  two Gubernatorial Election Primaries across the 319 wards. 

The faction led by the Federal Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi held its INDIRECT Gubernatorial Election Primary. 

While Senator Magnus Abe-led APC faction  held  his Gubernatorial Election Primary under the DIRECT Primary rules.
