President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Surveyor Suleiman Hassan as the Minister of the Environment.

The new appointment follows the resignation of the Minister of State for the Environment, Ibrahim Usman Jibril, who left the Federal Executive Council to ascend the throne of his forefathers as the Emir of Nasarawa in Nasarawa State.
The President, according to Shehu, announced the succession at the Ministry of the Environment at the end of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday.
