1,000 Political Appointees Sacked By Yuguda.

Determined to inject new blood into his new administration for the next four years, Bauchi State governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has approved the disengagement of all political office holders and other appointees numbering over 1,000 in the state.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs, Office of the Secretary tot the State Government, Hashimu Yakubu, copies of which were made available to newsmen in Bauchi yesterday.

The release also said that all commissioners, chairmen and members of boards, parastatals and extra ministerial departments should prepare their handing over notes and present same to the permanent secretaries of the various ministries and parastatals or the most senior directors where there are no permanent secretaries not later than May 16, 2011.

The statement added,  “all other political appointees comprising Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special and Personal Assistants should also prepare their handing over notes and hand over  to the heads of the various organisations  to which they are attached by May 16, 2011.”

It, however, explained that chairmen and members of statutory commissions..
comprising the Civil Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission are not affected by the development.

The statement concluded that, “while appreciating the support given for his re-election by political office holders, His Excellency wishes them the best in their future endeavors.”
