Lagos State Board Of Internal Revenue Seals AIR NIGERIA Headquarters .
The headquarters of Air Nigeria in Lagos was sealed up on Wednesday by officials of the Lagos State Board of Inland Services over an alleged undisclosed tax indebtedness. The officials who stormed the the Mobolaji Bank-Anthony Way office of the airline with the intention of getting the airline to pay an unspecified amount which was said to be running into several millions of naira, later left the premises after about four hour of closure. Workers said the armed officials came with two truck load of about 50 policemen and evacuated all the airline workers from the 5th and 9th floor.
The airline management was said to have failed to honour every invitation to pay its tax. Managing Director of Lagos State Revenue Board, Mr Tunder Fowler, said, "We had previously discussed and they still did not pay the outstanding taxes which resulted in the closure and today we had more discussions and Air Nigeria is going to forward a payment plan for outstanding taxes and based on this we have reopened them for business."
