Pastor bathes son with acid for sipping from his bottle of wine

 FOR sipping from a wine that was offered to him as a gift, a pastor has bathed his son with acid. The incident happened in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. The man of God, simply identified as Pastor Matthew Erure, was said to have gone berserk after his son took a glass and drank from his bottle of wine. The cleric was not around when the son drank from the wine but the son was said to have reported himself immediately his father returned. The furious cleric left the living room, returned with the deadly substance and poured it on his son. It was gathered, however, that the matter was not reported to the police. Pastor Erure, when contacted, earlier denied the incident but later owned up that the he did it to save his life and that of other members of his family. He alleged that his son “has been a pain in our neck”, saying that he deserved what he got because “the boy has committed a lot of atrocities against the family”. While narrating his ordeal at the weekend before newsmen, the boy said: “On that fateful day, I went into my father’s room and took a bottle of wine to keep body and soul together. As I was sipping from the glass of wine, my father who was away, returned and I told him about the wine in my hand but he became very angry and started insulting and calling me names. “Suddenly, he appeared with a cup and poured something on my body. First, I thought it was water that was inside the cup but immediately my body started peeling. I wonder why my father could be so mean to pour acid on me just because of a glass of wine from his bottle”. According to him, his father had boasted that he wouldn’t be responsible for his treatment but later made some money available to cater for his treatment ostensibly after much pressure and condemnation from family members. The cleric, however, said he never knew what was inside the cup was acid. He said his son was devilish and may be suffering from some mental or demonic problems. According to him; his son had allegedly committed so many atrocities against the family, hence he took the action against him. The elderly Erure said: “This boy has done so many things using ‘juju’ powers. A son who can use his back to touch any door, no matter how hard it is locked and it will open, should be feared. “We were told that before the native doctor prepares this juju for any one, the criteria is that you must have sex with your mother or sister before it can work effectively and in his case, we were made to understand that it was his own mother, my wife that he made love to. And as a result, the mother fell sick before it was revealed that such a thing took place.
