Three Die As Bomb Hits Thisday Office In Abuja And Kaduna.

Three people have been killed in a bomb blast at the Thisday newspaper office in Abuja, according to a Red cross official, while a second explosion went off at the office of the Sun  newspaper in the city of Kaduna.

The explosion in Abuja occurred around 11:30am on Thursday at the offices of ThisDay.
A statement from Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency said the explosion in Abuja was caused by a bomb planted inside the newspaper’s office.
The statement said authorities did not believe it was a suicide bombing.
Gbayode Somuyiwa, ThisDay’s spokesman that the blast occurred where ThisDay has its printing press in Abuja. He said he had no other details about what was happening, and did not immediately know about Kaduna.
“Three people died, including the attacker,” said a rescue official who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Police and paramilitary were on the scene and had surrounded the offices where the blast had taken place. An Associated Press new agency reporter who heard the explosion said it was very large.
Witnesses said another blast in the city of Kaduna hit the Sun newspaper office there.
A National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the explosion. “It’s true there was an explosion at Jabi (district).”
“NEMA officials are on the ground,” said Yushau Shuaib. “They are trying to move those injured to the hospitals, but we don’t have any information on casualties yet.”
