Two Aides Of Governor Rochas Okorocha Fight Publicly.

Governor Rochas Okorocha

WORKERS in the Governor’s Office, Owerri, Imo State witnessed a drama of the absurd yesterday as Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Special Assistant, Imo Water Board, Mr. Chimezie Duru, and the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, engaged in fisticuffs.

While the exchange of punches was on, some junior workers in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff were too shocked to separate the duo.
It took the intervention of a Government House photographer to stop the combatants from the display of shame, which took place at the Open Quadrangle, opposite the Pentagon Building.
It is not clear what led to the fighting but a source aid that “some aides of the governor have been quarreling over juicy offices”.
Duru, formerly the Special Assistant on Information Technology and Statistics and Okorocha’s kinsman, literally turned Nwachukwu into a punching bag, slapping and punching him.

In return, Nwachukwu, who formerly headed the Ministry of Public Utilities, bit Duru’s hand, almost drawing blood.
After the photographer succeeded in separating them, other workers appealed to the duo to give peace a chance.
They were immediately ushered into the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for a meeting.
When contacted, Nwachukwu said he was in a meeting while Duru said: “I have been officially directed not to comment on the matter”.
Later, Nwachukwu sent a text message to reporters: “I was never assaulted by anybody.
