Police Arraign Owners Of "IBIZA" Night Club In Abuja For Assaulting Customer.

The Nigeria Police on Tuesday arraigned two club owners in Garki before a Karu Senior Magistrates' Court for allegedly beating up a customer.

The police arraigned Austin Godfrey, 35, and Owel Joseph, both of Ibiza Night Club, Area 11, Garki, Abuja.

The prosecutor, Ambi Ayuba, told the court that the accused persons were standing trial for alleged joint act, criminal force, assault, and causing grievous hurt.

Mr. Ayuba said one Chinenye Arungba of Trinity House, Mabushi, Abuja, reported the case at the Garki Police Station on February 16.

He said the complainant went to the accused persons' night club, but while he was leaving the premises around 2 a.m., the accused conspired among themselves, blocked the exit and beat him.

The prosecutor said that the complainant sustained serious injuries on his jaw for which he underwent three major surgeries at the National Hospital.

The offences are punishable under sections 79, 265 and 247 of the Penal Code Law.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The Senior Magistrate, Bashir Alkali, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 and a surety each in like sum.

He said that the sureties must submit one of their recent photographs to the court registrar and their addresses must be verified by the prosecutor before they are released on bail.

The case was adjourned to March 27 for presentation of witnesses and hearing. NAN

It is really bad how people are treated. How ca someone who's contributing to your livelihood be beaten like an animal?

Really bad behavior from the club owners! Bouncers are so rude and unruly, I'd to ask a club owner to train his staff to forstall such incidences
