From Grass To Grace.Suswam Speaks Of How He Had Only One Trouser While Growing Up.

Benue State Governor, Gabriel Toruwa Suswan confessed on TV that he had only one pair of trousers while growing up in Benue State.
Suswan, during the programme, True Nigerians, anchored by music star, Zakky Azzay said, “My upbringing wasn’t rosy at all, though my father was a traditional ruler but we were not among the first class citizens. I was more close to my grand mum than my biological mother. I could remember then I just a pair of trousers. I would wash it over the night and put it on the following morning,” Suswam told Zakky who eventually hails from the same state with the governor.
Suswan story sounds familiar to that of the incumbent Nigerian president Ebele Goodluck Jonathan, who had also confessed, while campaigning for the presidency position that he had no shoes during his childhood days.
Suswan and Goodluck’s story are not unfamiliar with Nigeria’s wealthiest sect, many of whom had very humble beginnings but struggled and eventually found power, fame and wealth.
