Pictures And Videos Of Rt Hon Emmanuel Jime's Dramatic Transition To APC At NASS.

The first plenary session in 2014 at the House of Representatives was not without series of remarkable events as Benue law-maker, Honorable Emmanuel Jime, honorable member, representing Makurdi/ Guma Federal Constituency affirmed his defection from the “crisis ridden” People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress, the A.P.C. His written address sent the lower house and observers agog. Members of the A.P.C. happily received and decorated their newest ‘progressive convert, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, alongside, another Rep. from Plateau State, Hon. Yahaya Kwande who defected, from the D.P.P. Jime’s exit came as a rude shock to the P.D.P legislators, even though two members from the A.P.C, Rep. Titsi Ganama and Rep. Haske Hananiya both from Adamawa State decamped to the P.D.P. Some of the law maker’s constituents came from his home state to show him loyalty and support. A political associate and fervent supporter of Hon. Emmanuel Jime, Hon. Fidelis ‘Spinner’ Audu described the law maker’s ‘switch’ into the A.P.C as a “deliberate progressive move that will sustain, true and enviable democracy in Nigeria”. In another development, a fight almost erupted after Minority Leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (A.P.C) referred to Deputy House Majority Leader, Hon. Leonard Ogor (PDP) as “deputy House Minority Leader” during his address. The vibrant lawmaker called his statement, a deliberate attempt to bring to notice the issue of leadership change in the lower house.

With the defection of Hon. Emmanuel Jime and others into the APC, the Progressives’ numeral strength is increasingly threatening the P.D.P ‘minority’ led leadership in the lower house. Will the ‘giants’ weakened arm seize to bleed or will the progressives’ keep swinging of its ‘sling’ towards them? This is not certain but one thing is sure; the wind of democracy is here and change is inevitable.Watch his press conference
