MORO HIJACKED THE FUNCTIONS OF THE BOARD’ - IMMIGRATION ACG

A retired Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Sambo Gwandu has accused the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro of hijacking the recruitment process from the board charged with the responsibility of recruiting personnel into the Nigeria immigration Service and other agencies under the watch of the Ministry.Gwandu while speaking to Daily Trust said the minister hijacked the function of the board, a government parastatal under the Ministry of interior and gave it to a consultant thereby making the board irrelevant.
About 16 job applicants died at various centres across the country with scores injured in a job test that saw thousands of job applicants jostling for available 4,500 positions in the Nigeria Immigration.
“People should understand if there is anybody responsible for this it is the minister of interior and in my opinion if there is any additional party it is the board because the board allow the minister to usurp their powers,” Gwandu said.
