2 Nigerians Held In Dubai For Stealing Dh900,000 In Cash.

Two Nigerians have been accused of stealing Dh900,000 in cash by stunning guards of a security company that transports money using an electroshock weapon.
The Nigerian duo, 25-year-old A.A. and 23-year-old J.K., were said to have ambushed the two guards, a Ugandan and a Nepalese, and attacked them near an ATM machine at Lulu Village, Al Muhaisnah, in October 2013.
Prosecutors said the Nigerians used force to attack the guards, who were carrying the money to refill the ATM machine.
The defendants admitted that they took the money when they showed up before the Dubai Court of First Instance, but denied having any intention to do what they did.

The suspects, A.A. and J.K., contended that a third suspect, whom they identified as Alex, asked them to go and take the money.
“What is that supposed to mean? Did you steal the money or not? What is your plea; guilty or not?” presiding judge Urfan Omar asked the defendants.
“Yes we committed the robbery but unintentionally. The so-called Alex promised ordered us to take the money … and that was what we did. The Taser belonged to the driver and not to us. We did not use it,” replied A.A.
The Ugandan security guard testified to prosecutors that he and his Nepalese colleague carried two bags when the alleged attack happened at 11am.
“I carried the bag that contained the required tools to open the ATM while my workmate carried the moneybag. Two metres away from the entrance, the defendants took us by surprise and attacked us. One of the suspects punched me repeatedly and knocked me down, while the other suspect stunned my workmate with the Taser. They grabbed the moneybag and absconded,” claimed the Ugandan.
The Nepalese security guard testified that the defendants attacked the Ugandan first and then him.
A police lieutenant claimed to prosecutors: “Police identified the suspects through the number plate of the car, which they used to run away after the crime. Identifying their fingerprints and whereabouts, police raided their flat in Nakheel Area and arrested them. Police seized Dh28500 and a BlackBerry Phone with A.A. and Dh9700 and two laptops, an iPad and a BlackBerry Phone from J.K.”
Records said two other suspects, who remain at large, were also involved in the case as well. Primary interrogations revealed that the defendants split the money among themselves.
The case is still in court.
