Gov Tanko Al Makura Of Nassarawa State Donates N8million & Relief Materials To Displaced Tiv Farmers In The State.

GOVERNOR Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, on Sunday, donated a sum of N8 million and relief materials to displaced Tiv farmers in four local government areas of the state  to alleviate their sufferings.The governor, who announced this while escorting the displaced farmers back to their respective communities, however, assured them that government had provided adequate security to guarantee their safety as they commence farming activities.Al-Makura, who commenced the exercise at Idadu village in Doma Local Government Area of thestate, said his administration decided to undertake the exercise with a view to bolstering their confidence, assuring that government would go an extra mile to ensure that their lives and property were protected.According to him, “I decided to come here todayto give you confidence that your safety is guaranteed because we are going to add more security personnel who would work round the clock to ensure your safety.”While making passionate appeal to members of Tiv communities to return to their places of abode, he lamented that their absence had affected the economic base of the state greatly and significantly because they were largely farmers.The affected local governments are Doma, Obi Keana and Awe.
