After 22 Years Of Being In The Opposition Senator David Iornem JoinsPDP.
All Progressives Congress, APC, stalwart, Prof.David Iornem has described the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) as a party of cabals even as he disclosed that currently in the country, the People Democratic Party (PDP) still offered the best form of internal democracy.(hear who is talking)
Iornem who made this known yesterday in Lessel, Ushongo Local Government Area at a decamping rally to mark his entrance into PDP,
said he was quitting the opposition due to the attitude of former Governor George Akume
whom he accused of running the party from his bedroom.
"A cabal has taken over the party and they have refused to listen to the voice of reason so as to return to the right path, preferring rather
to work towards turning the party into a personal business of one individual".
“Hence, the APC is no longer the party we founded as the Action Congress (later Action Congress of Nigeria). It's has lost meaning
and focus and is bedevilled by leadership failure.
“Moreso, the party is considering the possibility of a Moslem/Moslem ticket and I consider that a serious threat to national unity
and the height of insensitivity to the current precarious national unity in Nigeria.
"I cannot in good conscience advocate for a Christian- Christian ticket in Nigeria in the
current prevailing circumstances. So, why should I condone such a reckless posturing."
Iornem who is joining the ruling party after 22 years of being in opposition, lamented that the
recent congresses of the APC from the ward up to the state level were riddled with irregularities clandestinely designed and
intended to impose party executive and officials on members.
He said the congresses witnessed diversion of congress materials which led to wanton disenfranchisement of party faithful. "Considering my intellectual investment and
time in the building of the APC in Benue state and Nigeria at large, the decision to quit is tough and weighty. But my task has been made easier by the wider acceptance of my decision by my followers and supporters."(you decamped cause you have a case at ICPC pls).
He commended the state Governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam for assuring him of a space in the PDP even as he urged his supporters that
though it was very difficult to leave a party they have built over the years, they are going to get the space they want in the PDP.(suddenly you realise Suswam's anteccedents?).
In his speech at the occasion, Governor Gabriel Suswam while welcoming Iornem to the PDP,
called on politicians to play politics without bitterness and violence.
According to Suswam, he will create a level playing field for all politicians seeking elective
positions.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, protection. So now if am corrupt and I need protection I have to go join PDP. Unfortunately those claiming to be decamping lack relevance in the APC. Its a shame.
