Pope Francis Appoints New Bishop For The Catholic Diocese Of Makurdi, Benue State.

 

 His Holiness Pope Francis today  announced a new Bishop for Makurdi Diocese ,this statement was contained in a press released signed and sent by Rev Fr Moses Iorapuu,The Director of communications.Here is the release he sent out.

I am pleased to inform you that his Holiness Pope Francis has today, Tuesday, 8th July, 2014, appointed Rev. Fr Anagbe Wilfred Chikpa, CMF of the Eastern Province of the Claretian Congregation of Nigeria as the Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Makurdi.

Most Rev Anagbe Wilfred, CMF, at present the Provincial Treasurer of the Eastern Province of the Claretian Congregation in Nigeria, was born on the 2nd April 1965 in Aondona, Raav-Udam District, Gwer-West Local Government Area in Benue State. He did his Primary education at Aondona, before entering St. James Junior Seminary, Markurdi for his Secondary education. He completed his religious-priestly formation at the Claretian Postulancy, Nekede(1985-1986), Heart of Mary Novitiate Utonkon(1986-1987), Claretian Institute of Philosphy, Nekede(1987-1990) and a Masters in Theology from Claretian Institute of Theology, Attakwu-Enugu(1990-1994). He was ordained a priest on 6th August 1994. He did his higher studies in Practical Theology at the Pontifical University of Salamanca in Spain (2004-2005).
