MUTA is an organisation that seeks to create and/or support activities that will strengthen social, cultural, economic and scientific development of the TiV people of Nigeria, their members in the United States of America and elsewhere in the Diaspora, and the people of other nations by promoting the exchange of cultural, scientific and technological innovations for the benefit of the Tiv.

This year's  22ND Annual Convention of the Mutual Union of the Tiv in America (MUTA) tagged  “Hattiesburg 2014″ took place in Hattiesburg,  With the Theme: The Tiv: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.The convention started on  July 31 and will end with a grand finale on  August 3, 2014  at  Holiday Inn & Suites Hattiesburg – University.Continue to see more....

Every year Tiv indigenes scramble to attended the MUTA Convention,infact, the Governor usually sends a large delegation to represent him at the convention.This year's MUTA has Prof Saint Gbilekaa as the leader of the Government delegation along with some members of State EXCO,while Rtd Brigdr Gen John Atom Kpera is representing the Tiv Traditional Council,the convention is well attended !one thing we observed is the presence of Governorship candidates as well as politicians.
