Jime Promises Better Infrastructural Base At Benue State University If Elected.

 
APC Gubernatorial candidate Rt Hon Emmanuel Jime has reiterated his commitment to restore the infrastructural base of Benue state university Makurdi to standards more assuring of intellectctual output.He stated this while addressing students and staff of the institution during his solidarity visit to commiserate with the school over the inferno that occurred at the female wing of the hostel.
 
Hon Jime  reiterated the fact that, several years ago as Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, he presided over the passage into law of the bill establishing the Benue State University, Makurdi (1992/1993). He regretted that many of the structures currently used by the students were not befitting of a 21st century University and promised that if given the opportunity, he shall restore the infrastructural base of the school to standards more assuring of the highest intellectual output.

As part of his support to the victims numbering 106, Rt Hon Jime‎ gave a token of =N=150,000.00 to assist them. He also commended the school for the prompt response in re-assigning the displaced students to a new hostel.

The APC 2015 Gubernatorial aspirant also pronounced that all of the victims shall automatically be awardees of his scholarship scheme, the Jime Tsav Scholarship Scheme, 2014/2015 session.

Reacting to the visit and gestures, the Dean of Student of affairs, Prof Armstrong Adejoh thanked the Honourable for his prompt response and kind gestures. ‎In his remarks, the President of the Students' Union Government (SUG) Mr Bobby Tavershima thanked the Honourable for the visit and for several support extended to students in his about 8 year old scholarship scheme. Another student leader, Mr Mson Ankwagh also thanked the Honourable member amidst rapturous applause from the Students whose appreciation of the visit was glaring.
