Benue Civil Servants,Politics And Opposition | Helllo Mr Governor, Section 40 Of The 1999 Constitution Is Very Clear On This. Please Read It Here.

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State yesterday threatened to invoke relevant laws to sanction any civil servant found romancing with the opposition parties in the state.
The governor, who stated this during the swearing in ceremony of four permanent secretaries at the Government House said, any civil servant interested in politics should resign, insisting that his administration will not tolerate disloyalty from any civil servant, especially now that he has less than one year to leave office as governor. PLEASE CLICK FOR RESPONSE...

Hellooooo !Your Excellency Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution validates the right of every Nigerian “...to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and in particular he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or any other association for the protection of his interests.” "The provisions of section 40 of the 1999 Constitution are clear. Their import is to allow ‘every person’, including public office holders and civil servants, the freedom to assemble freely and associate with other persons to form or belong to any political party, or trade union or any association for the protection of his interests. The section has made no exception and there is no proviso therein limiting its application to civil servants or public officers. It is important to mention that the provisions of the Civil (Public) Service Rules have not been challenged in this case and therefore their validity is not in issue for determination by this court." (Per Justice Muhammed Uwais (CJN, rtd.)  at page 166 of the case).

Governor Suswam we all know  that the civil service remains the engine room of any government, but sanctioning is VICTIMIZATION no law gives you power to do so.Please you are a lawyer and you should quote the law with care.

That's how it goes in this country,
If ii can remember, someone mentioned Zone A senate, guys, that is hot cake, the hottest cake in Nigerian Politics, it is only in Zone A that nobody, i repeat, no body ever, and will never repeat senateship, especially from one political party. Common' check na, Saor, Akaagerger, am afraid Gemade will not make it again, not because he is not good or a good candidate but its in our stream of politics and politicking, and not necesarily that Suswam he did emerge at the polls but may be another unknown candidate but suswam has good potentials because he have been there. Am just an analyst of politics, and thats my home, so i can tell you well about home.
