Minor Plane Crash Paralyses Flights At Abuja Airports.




Activities at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja are now paralyzed following a minor crash by a small aircraft, Cessna 172 Skyhawk on the main run-way at the Airport.

The small plane was said to be making efforts to land at the run-way when it crash landed, according to airport, staff who spoke with Newspot Nigeria.

There has not been an official statement on the incident as at the time of filing this report, although those contacted confirmed the incident, which they said has started affecting the evening flights

Officials said the small aircraft, a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, made an emergency landing on the runway and was yet to be towed for other planes to take off or land.

It would be the second time such incident would occur at the Nation’s international airport, the first being a Turkish Airline which got stocked on the run-way early in the year, leading to cancellation of flight scheduled for two days at the airport.

Mostly affected by the incident, according to airport sources are the Aero and Arik airlines which have their flights fixed for late evenings.

There are reports that many passengers are now stranded at the airport while planes were bein diverted to Kano and Kaduna Airports

The Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport has only a run way.
