Nigeria/Germany To Improve Economic & Parliamentary Ties.

Nigeria and Germany are to improve Economic and Parliamentary cooperation that would enhance the well being of the two nations.

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark  and German Ambassador to Nigeria -Mr. Mike Zenner made the position known when the two leaders met in Abuja .In a press release signed by Paul Mumeh,Senator Mark also assured of the continuous socio-economical cooperation between Nigeria and Germany saying the country will work closely with other developed economy of the world to better the lots of its citizenry.

Mark urged nations across the world to show understanding about the difficulties Nigeria was facing on account of Security challenges,  a development he said requires global action to tackle.According to him; "it is always alarming when you hear the impression countries all over the world nurse about Nigeria. The challenges facing our country are surmountable  and we are doing our best to get out of it. "We plead  with other European countries to understand some of the difficulties we face as a nation and help in solving our internal problems.
"We will continue to work closely with the German government at improving our economy and  as well as Parliamentary cooperation with German legislature. German Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Mike  Zenner said the relationship that exists between Nigeria and Germany is cordial and mutually beneficial pointing out that Nigerians in Germany have excelled in the area of academics and Arts now helping to boost the fortune of his country.

To Zenner, this cooperation must be sustained and improved upon for the benefit of both nations.Also yesterday, the Senate President assured that the Federal government will continue to encourage non-oil  products and export promotion in order to create employment opportunities.

Addressing a  delegation of Federation of Agricultural Community and Association of Nigeria, (FACAN), led by Dr. Victor Iyama in his office, Senator Mark stressed that despite the constraints facing the export sector, "we will do the needful to promote and encourage exports by expanding non-oil products across the country.He was optimistic that with more  export, the more buoyant our economic becomes  and unemployment addressed.

Leader of the delegation, Dr. Victor Iyama urged the National Assembly to work on the modalities at ascertaining the growth in the non- oil sector . He requested the Federal and State governments to focus more on  Agricultural products in order to boost export promotion.
