Taking The Gratitude challenge..............Here is my #Gratitude challenge.

There’s a new exercise currently making its way around Facebook. It’s called the “Grateful Challenge” and basically, it works as the name suggests in that someone challenges you to list three things for which you are grateful and you must do it for seven consecutive days.
So Stephanie Apel nominated me for the grateful challenge, I quickly accepted. I never miss the opportunity to talk about the things for which I am grateful for  the timing could not be better so I also saw the challenge as column material. After all, it’s easy to find things to complain about, but what about the other perspective?
After some careful thought, here’s what I am grateful for:

Day 1
I am grateful to my Parents who brought me into this world David Dabul,Flora Chirkpi then my Husband John, who gives me the strength to carry on every day.He makes me the person I am. my Grandmum,my Stepmum am grateful for the love you give to me.And all my relatives too.
I am grateful for our wonderful children Priscilla,Karana,George,Joseph and Lianater
I am grateful for my siblings Valentina,Stephanie,David jnr,Sechivir,Avadoo.Am also grateful to all the wonderful friends I have made over the years.

Day 2
I am grateful  that I have been able to pursue to my personal goals of becoming a Journalist and a Blogger, and I thank everyone who has played a role in making my dreams come true through  my Blog, this Blog has brought me fame, doom and love, thank God for all the people i met as a Blogger and an online personality.Am also grateful to my Executive Secretary Prof Bem Angwe and all my colleagues at the National Human Rights Commission where i work and serve my country, thank God for giving me the heart to show love to all especially those in need.

Day 3
I am grateful that I can have relatively quick and easy access to health care good health am grateful for the finances too.

Day 4
I am grateful for all the people who enjoy reading www.Fabmimi.com and provide great feedback every day through comments, likes ,mentions and retweets..
I am grateful for Nigeria my country and most especially Benue State the place I call home

Day 5
I am grateful for the generations who came before us and helped build up this great country we call home.
Despite terrorists attacks and insurgence  I am grateful that I live in Lagos where the peace is better compared to the core Northern part of the country.
I am grateful for the creature comforts such as food, clothing, electricity and home

Day 6  I am grateful for my President ,my Governors,Senators ,Members of Reps and everyone God has placed to be in charge of our country even though some of them are failures ,am grateful to them, and to the men and women, past and present, who lay their lives on the line to protect our society.

Day 7
I am grateful for the extended family that I gained when I married John, namely my mother-in-law Tabitha ,my late Father In law George Atedze, all my sisters-in-law  and Brothers in law.

Although I know I started this challenge by mentioning how grateful I am to have married to such a wonderful man, but I’ll end by repeating it. Of all the things I am grateful for in this whole wide world, I am most grateful that I found my soul mate and my best friend.he’s been a strong and supportive partner through the good times and bad, he’s a wonderful father to our children and he’s been my number one cheerleader. Who could ask for anything more?
And for those of you who think this exercise is easy, if you haven’t already done so, I invite you to try it for the next seven days. I might say it would be easier to list three things for seven days of things we don’t like, but you might find that to do it in a way that shows your gratitude for the important things in your lives and to do it for an entire week is no easy task.
In fact, it’s more challenging than you might think. That’s because for many people, it’s easier to be negative than positive, but believe me, this show of gratitude is much more rewarding and personally fulfilling.
For me the bottom line is that we have so much for which we should be grateful for. We are so fortunate to live where we live, to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy, to embrace the love and friendships that complete our lives, and to have the riches we have. Unfortunately, many of us take those gifts for granted. I say gifts because there are so many people around the world who aren’t as fortunate as some of us or at least that’s the view from here.

So inspiring Fabmimi! There's every reason for everyone living to be grateful. it's just human that our minds are more responsive to ugly things than the beautiful. I hope this challenge will help open our minds to see and appreciate the beauty in and around us.

But see o, I've been waiting patiently in the past few weeks for a friend to nominate me in this challenge but it seems everyone's too busy counting their blessings, or perhaps they don't even know I'm there liking and commenting on there updates so they can see me and challenge me. But on a second thought, why am I waiting for someone to nominate me for this #GratituteChallenge before embarking on a gratitute post? God didn't wait for anyone to nominate me on his to-do list before raining his blessing on me. Therefore, I'm taking myself nominated challenge tomorrow.
