The Benue State House of Assembly on Wednesday passed resolution for the Benue State Government to participate in the N220 billion Central Bank of Nigeria’s Micro Small and Medium Enterprise fund.

Governor Gabriel Suswam had on 12th September, 2014 written the Benue State House of Assembly seeking the approval of the House for participation in the facility.

The resolution was passed at the plenary of the House following a motion to that effect moved by Majority Leader, Paul Biam.

The funds once accessed by the state government would be channelled to agriculture, poverty reduction, employment and other intervention areas with women expected to get 15 per cent of the funds.

Benue citizens who do not belong to cooperatives are encouraged to register for participation.

With the approval, the state will join the 36 States of Nigeria and Federal Capital Territory for participation in the N220 billion CBN fund for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
