Wooh! Benue Works Commissioner Requesting Fed Govt To Pay Benue StateGovt N3.6Billion For Federal Roads Constructed By The State. Is thisfor real?





Benue State government has called on the federal government to settle the N3.6billion owed the state for constructing federal road in the state.
This appeal was made by the state commissioner for works and transport, Honourable John Ngbede while speaking with newsmen in his office yesterday.

He explained that the Otukpo Utonkon- Igumale trunk A road was constructed by the present administration, for which he said federal government was yet to refund the money to the state.
The commissioner lamented on the abandoned Makurdi-Gboko road which he said federal government had paid for, but the contractor absconded, calling on the federal government to prevail on the contractor to return to work.
The commissioner noted that work would soon commence to fix the roads, stating that seven street roads have been earmarked for rehabilitation.
“As the dry season sets in, we are commencing the parching of bad portions of some roads in the capital city, for now, we have earmarked seven streets for rehabilitation.I can assure you that as this administration exits we will not leave some of the ongoing projects uncompleted,” he said.
