Vice President Namadi Sambo Flags Off Inter-City Rail Transport SystemIn Makurdi.

Vice President Namadi Sambo has  flagged off five seater air conditioned passenger coaches inter city rail transport system.
 Sambo said the project is a fulfillment of Jonathan's  promise in 2011,he noted that   "President Jonathan has ensured the fulfilment of the promises he made to Nigerians by transforming the country especially the transport sector as a critical infrastructure.The event is a commitment of our unflinching services. This transformation is in three phases, System transition, system modernization and system stabilization."Sambo said.

On his part,Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state applauded the Jonathan led administration for reviving the moribund railway system which according to him was abandoned in the last thirty years.

 He said, "Transformation does not need noise. We need young people to run government

 but not old people who are too weak, the old people should guide us to continue the transformation agenda."

 The Chairman of the Nigerian Railways Cooperation and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Bamanga Tukur observed that it was the uncommon commitment of the Federal Government through the railway sector that has added in boosting the economy.

 The minister of transport Idris Umar and the Managing Director Engr. Adeseyi Sijuwade charged

 the people to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the present administration in the railways sector.

These coaches will ply  Makurdi -Port-Harcourt route.
