Former Taraba State Deputy Governor Slumps And Dies.
Tragedy struck at weekend in Jalingo, Taraba State, when former deputy governor, Senator Saleh Usman Danboyi, slumped and died. The incident, which occurred during the late hours of Friday in his house, located few meters to the Government House, has thrown the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state into mourning.
An eyewitness told reporters that Senator Danboyi, who until his death was the Director General of Arc. Darius Ishaku/ Haruna Manu Gubernatorial Campaign Organisation, was on the verge of returning to bed after the day’s activities before he slumped.
According to him, “we immediately rushed him to the hospital but before we could get there, he gave up the ghost.” Confirming the incident, the state chairman of the PDP, Mr. Victor Bala Kona, who spoke through the party’s Public Relations Officer, noted that Danboyi was hypertensive.
Though, his death, according to Kona, would affect the party “as he would be greatly missed by party members” but that should not affect the chances of the party in next Saturday’s governorship election.
