Benue State In News : Gov.Samuel Ortom Approves Dissolution Of All Boards,Promises To Make Media Outfits Functional,Charges Benue Inigenes To Project Positive Image Of The State.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has approved the dissolution of all boards of parastatals, non statutory commissions and governing councils of all tertiary institutions in the State.
A statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Targema Takema disclosed that the dissolution was with immediate effect.
The statement urged all heads of affected organizations to take note.

In another development, Governor Ortom promised to make all government media outfits functional for effective dissemination of information.
He made the pledge in Abuja during an interactive session with members of the Peoples’ House Press Crew organized by the Special Adviser on Media and ICT, Mr. Tahav Agerzua.
The Governor who particularly noted the poor state of Radio Benue and the Benue Printing and Publishing Company, publishers of The Voice newspaper assured that everything would be done to restore the lost glory of the media outfits.
He announced that he has decided to withdraw the case he filed in against Ashi Waves Radio Station Katsina-Ala in line with his spirit of forgiveness as he was now Governor of the entire state.
The Governor maintained that he met Benue State in a bad economic situation but expressed hope that God would create a way for the people to surmount all the challenges and for his administration to provide good governance.
Earlier, the Special Adviser, Media and ICT, Mr. Agerzua assured the Governor that members of The Peoples’ House Press Crew were professionals who resolved to support the administration to succeed through timely and adequate reportage of his activities to the Benue community and the outside world.
…Charges Benue indigenes to project positive image of the State
Governor Samuel Ortom has charged Benue indigenes in public offices to project the positive image of the State by excelling in their assignments. Governor Ortom gave the charge in Otukpo at a reception after a thanksgiving mass in honour of the immediate past President of the Senate, David Mark organized by people of Benue South Senatorial District.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Terwase Orbunde, the Governor acknowledged the landmark achievements of Senator Mark at the Senate saying Benue people were proud of him.
Responding, Senator Mark said successes recorded in piloting affairs of the upper chambers of the legislature in the last eight years were accomplished by the grace of God as well as the support of colleagues and prayers of friends and well wishers.
He expressed appreciation to those who stood firmly by him in turbulent moments saying the thanksgiving masa was orgaized to give all glory to God for his sustenance.
Earlier in a sermon at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Bishop of Gboko Diocese Most Rev. Dr. William Avenya sued for unity among Nigerians particularly the political class and enjoined them to imbibe the culture of forgiveness, love and thanksgiving to God.
... Says all things work for good of those who love God
Speaking with newsmen yesterday in Abuja while reacting to the election of the leadership of the National Assembly, Governor Ortom quoted Romans 8: 28 which stated that all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called for his purpose.
He spoke at the Governor's Lodge in Asokoro Abuja where a reception was held for the Benue delegation which went to felicitate with the inaugurated members of the National Assembly.
Governor Ortom today also hosted members of Dlite Football Club at his Games Village residence in Abuja.
