Personality Of The Day. Meet The Youngest Commissioner From Benue State, Barr Mrs Mwuese Mnyim.

Benue State Gov Dr Samuel Ortom has appointed a young, dynamic Amazon into his cabinet.This appointment is in fulfillment of his promises of youth inclusiveness, transparency, accountability and gender consideration and in line with his his policy frame work of replicating the late Aku model who involved young people in his administration.


Hon Barr.Mrs Mwuese Mmyim:Born to the family of an Academic Don and luminaries Prof and Bar Mrs Charles Achiel uji(1984).

She hails from Tse Shimshima, Mbayev ,Mbagbaange,Tyoshin,Adaka,Makurdi Local Govt of Benue. Barr Mnyim attended obafemi Awolowo university staff school, FGGC Ipetu modu Osun state, Obafemi Awolowo University ile-ife,(LLB law)respectively.

She proceeded for her compulsory law school to Nigeria law school Enugu(2009) and proceeded later for her one year mandatory Service to the Nation(National Youth service) in Kano State where she served with the Legal Aid Department of NYSC clinic,Kano State.

In her quest for wider knowledge and inorder to boost her managerial skills with legal profession, she enrolled into a management program of the Nigeria institute of management where graduated and was inducted as graduate /chartered member of the Body (NIM)2010.

Bar Mrs Mnyim, having no doubt of what the future holds for her and coming from a background of the academia, again proceeded for her LLM,masters of law, done and dusted, the call to impact and instill her knowledge in order made her take a brief research and study of the teaching profession where she enrolled at the professional body of the Nigeria Teacher's institute where she bagged a PGD(education) which got her rooted in the field of the academia as a lecturer with Benue state University, makurdi in the law faculty.

Well competition we may call it or better still being from the family of academia you might also be right, in order to attain heights where there's plenty room.

Barr Mnyim is currently a PhD(inview) student of the Benue state university pushing for a Doctor of philosophy.A researcher, philosopher, academia, with a polished speaking style and a command of eloquent and uplifting rhetoric and the ability to inspire the enthusiasm of young minds.Even while in college as a law undergraduate, she was engaged by the services of of the Nigeria Television Authority(NTA) Ile -ife as a presenter, she has also worked as a research assistance to the Special Assistant to the Hon Attoreny general of the federation and Minister of Justice, Criminal law lecturer, Nigeria police Academy Mudil,Kano state (2010_2011),private legal practice at Okechukwu Nwaeze and Co, Kano state (2011-2013),and a law lecturer, faculty of law Benue State University where she is currently the faculty exams officer.

She has done many research thus adding her name to the oak of researchers namely Environmental law, Jurisprudence, Human Rights, Public/International Law and has attended many conferences both in and out of Nigeria such as the RCCG,law teachers conference and a United Nation conference on Law reforms.

Awards they said are for record breakers and not rule breakers, Bar Mrs Mnyim has several and series of such with more pending as she takes the mantle of officer as a member of the state Executive council, namely but a few,Career Excellence award by law student association, member British professionals manager s society, Best lecturer, Nigeria police Academy and a silver medalist, shakars's international children's competition, new Delhi,India, she's a member of several bodies such as Nigeria bar association(NBA), christian lawyers fellowship of Nigeria, member British professionals managers society, member Nigerian institue of management.a Devoted christian, housewife, she's happily married to Bar Fidelis Mnyim Esq, Principal partner,F.B Mnyim and co.
