On Monday, Dr. Angela Uwakwem, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center Owerri, Imo State, was sacked by the FG after several weeks of protests by the staff of the hospital.

Prior to her sack, she had been in the news over the poor running of the hospital. The hospital staff accused her of nepotism, occult practices within the hospital premises, high handiness and enriching herself from the coffers of the Medical Center.

Upon the announcement of Dr. Angela's sack, the staff of the hospital went on a wild jubilation and threw a sack party which included a professional DJ who they hired.
