Senator George Akume Commends Gov Ortom For Starting This Administration On A Sound Footing.

 Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Senator George Akume, today stated that Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has started administering the state on a sound footing.

He spoke in Gbajimba, Guma local government area, when he visited the Governor in company of Chief Steven Lawani, immediate past deputy governor of the state.
Senator Akume who represents Benue North West senatorial district said he was confident that he would not end his tenure in disgrace.

The former Governor and Senate Minority Leader reminded Governor Ortom that the people of the state loved him and expected him to give them bread and water for their hunger and thirst even as he enjoined the people to be patient with Ortom as he strives to overcome current challenges.



Senator Akume described the people of the state as difficult but good people who respond positively to purposeful leadership.
Governor Ortom expressed gratitude to God, Senator Akume, and the people of the state for making him governor and promised to provide quality leadership
He enjoined the people of the state to shun crime and evolve peaceful ways of coexisting with Fulani herdsmen pending the time a permanent solution to the perennial conflict between farmers and herders, which is the establishment of ranches, would be found.
According to him the construction of the Daudu-Gbajimba road has been included in the supplementary budget which he submitted to the State House of Assembly and work on it would continue as soon as the budget was passed while provision for the construction of other roads in the area would be made in subsequent budgets.


He advocated increased enrolment of pupils into primary and secondary schools stressing that in modern day society education played a fundamental role in enhancing the fortunes of people.
The Governor also encouraged the people to serve God in truth and spirit so that it would be well with them as stipulated in Job 36: 11.
In separate goodwill messages, Evangelist Tor Uja, former commissioner and state chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, lauded the humane and compassionate dispositions of both Governor Ortom and Senator Akume, while state APC chairman, Comrade Abba Yaro, and member of the House of Representatives, Dickson Tarkighir expressed home that the administration would deliver on promises.
