Two Months After Assuming Office Gov,Samuel Ortom Is Yet To Move Into The Governor's Lodge.

Two months after he assumed office, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State is yet to move into the governor’s lodge. Meanwhile President Buhari and hs vice have moved into the Presidential Vlla.
Sunday Tribune visited the lodge during the week and noticed that it was under lock and key.

The renovation of the building and the ongoing governorship election tribunal sitting in Makurdi were said to be responsible for the delay.
Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor had challenged the validity of Ortom as the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC).

Sunday Tribune reliably gathered that governor Ortom prefers to wait for the outcome of the tribunal before he officially moves into the castle-like lodge.

The lodge adjudged to be one of the best in the country was built by former governor of the state, Dr Gabriel Suswam.

Though it is yet to be ascertained where the pendulum will swing at the tribunal, the reported alarm recently raised by the national legal adviser of APC, Dr Muiz Bamire (SAN) on the possibility of the party losing the governorship seat to PDP at the ongoing tribunal, according to a source, has further heigthened the fear in the ranks of APC in the state.

Speaking with Sunday Tribune on the development, a former commissioner of police, Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav (rtd), asked rhetorically, ‘why is he afraid of moving in? if truly he is a man of God as he professes, he should have moved in, or is devil greater than him?

Reacting to the insinuation, the governor, through the Special Adviser on Media, Mr Tahav Argezua, explained that the lodge was undergoing renovations, adding that “you know a structure constructed about five years ago needs to be renovated.I can assure you that as soon as this is completed the governor will move in.”
