Buhari, Ortom Prescribe Anti-Corruption Lifestyle Of Late Justice Alhassan Idoko,Former Chief Judge Of Benue State.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, today prescribed the anti-corruption lifestyle of the late Justice Alhassan Idoko, former Benue State Chief Judge, to Nigerians as a pre-requisite for the progress of the country.

The two leaders spoke at the first memorial lecture for the late legal luminary in Makurdi.

President Buhari spoke through Governor Ortom who later made remarks as state chief executive.

"The late Justice Alhassan Idoko was a God-fearing, respected and incorruptible jurist who contributed immensely to the dispensation of justice in Benue State in particular and Nigeria at large," President Buhari stated.

"He was known for his forthrightnessas he lived above board; as Chief Judge he provided exemplary leadership such that the Benue State judiciary was rated among the best in the country."

According to the President, "this kind of man was rare in his generation just as it's difficult to find such a person among public servants these days and every other day."

"Yet if Nigeria must make progress and join the greatest in the comity of nations the life of the late Justice Idoko remains the best prescription."

He said that kind of disposition informed the drive of his administration to make the eradication of corruption in all facets of life a priority even as he said he was glad that at the state level Governor Samuel Ortom has also declared zero tolerance for corruption.

"This is the right way for all Nigerians to go, let the memory of Justice Idoko inspire and motivate all of us to seek to positively impact on the society in which we have found ourselves in such a way that long after our departure our lives could be reflected upon," President Buhari stressed.

Governor Ortom in his capacity stated that righteous living was the recipe for a prosperous and pleasurable life at the individual and community levels and quoted Job 36: to buttress his point.
