A 25 year old father of 2 from Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, Asema Friday was yesterday arrested by officials of the Jemgbagh Youth Progressive Forum in Gboko after stealing a motorcycle belonging to one Aondona at the First Bank premises.

Mr. Asema, a Senior School Certificate holder resides at the Fidei Polytecknic area of Gboko. He was arrested following reports from the victim to officials of the youth body who kept watch on a bike he left behind until the suspect returned from Buruku where he is later learnt to have given out the machine to his partner in Ugbah for sale.
Mr. Asema, who confessed to committing the crime told Benue Revival that he had been convicted by a Makurdi Magistrate Court for the same crime years ago when he was arrested at Gonduzua and served a five year jail term after which he resumed the 'business' as a fallout of his disagreement with his uncle who he was serving under as a Dstv installation officer.
He explained that as a way of getting to his victims, he stayed in a car wash which is in a vantage point and watched as customers got in to Banks and followed them into the Banking hall where he finds out the nature of their transactions and the predicted duration before coming out to steal his bikes.
He pleaded with the youth to in the interest of his son spare his life and give him an opportunity live in order to turn a new leaf.
Speaking with Benue Revival, leader of the team and secretary of Jemgbagh Youth Progressive Forum, Hyacinth Dajo maintained that motorcycle theft has been prevalent in the area and its increase in recent times has become a source of worry to residents of the town which made the youth determined to unravel the mystery behind the crime.
Over twenty motorcycles were recovered from the suspect today after the youth stormed a hideout in Abeda Shitile, home town of the suspect with other motorcycles said to be in the hands of many of his partners in different villages within the state.
The suspect has been handed over to the Gboko Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force while about ten original owners have identified their motorcycles from the recovered ones as at the time of filing this report.
