Gov Ortom Inaugurates Bridge Built And Donated To The Community By Proprietor Of Vaatia College,Engr Mike Vaatia.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, yesterday inaugurated a bridge across River Sambe,built and donated to the community by Mike Vaatia.During the commissioning ,the Governor assured the people of the state that provision would be made for the development of rural areas in partnership with communities and other stakeholders in the 2016 budget of the state.

He said the decision to focus on community development in next year's budget was in line with his administration's blueprint, stressing that the state government would support efforts made by members of various communities to transform their areas.
Governor Ortom who commended Engineers Vaatia and Kpue for their development initiatives in the community, announced the donation of N10 million as the state government's contribution to the electrification project embarked upon by the Mbausu community.

He called on wealthy sons and daughters of the state to support their communities with development projects as government alone could not do so.
The Governor later inaugurated a bridge across the River Sambe which was built and donated to the community by Engr. Vaatia.
Earlier in separate speeches, Engrs. Kpue and Vaatia said they were motivated to embark on community projects to alleviate the plight of their people.
They commended Governor Ortom for the transparent manner his administration had commenced, appealing to him to sustain his efforts in ensuring that development got to the people at the grassroots. 

Others who spoke at the occasion included former governorship aspirant in Benue State, Mr. Hingah Biem, Senator Fred Orti, Chief Dr. Mrs. Helen Awunah and Chief Ben Akaakar.

Governor Ortom also attended a thanksgiving mass and civic reception in honour of Engineers Mike Vaatia and David Kpue at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church Ivenge-Mbausu, Vandeikya local government area of the State.
