Kogi: Supporters Throng Yahaya Bello’s Residence (PHOTOS)
Supporters and admirers of Alhaji Yahaya Bello have besieged his residence in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, to congratulate him as he emerged the governor of the state today, December 6.Bello, 40, was declared the winner of the state governorship election after the conclusion of the supplementary polls which were held on Saturday, December 5.
Popularly called ‘Fair Plus’ by his admirers, Bello scored 6,885 while the incumbent, Captain Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scored 5,363 votes in the supplementary polls.

When added to the result of the previous election, the All Progressive Congress total number of votes is 247,752 while that of the PDP is 204,877.

The leader of one of the groups that besieged Bello’s residence – Ebira Youth Vanguard, Abdulmumuni Suleiman, said they are excited about the change that has come to Kogi state.
”We are happy that change has finally come to Kogi state. We were disappointed when Alhaji Bello lost the primary election initially, but by the design of God’s wish, it has happened now,” Suleiman said.
Meanwhile, the security personnel in Bello’s residence are keeping vigil at the front door in order to forestall any form of violence as the youths dance their way in and out of the compound.
