The White Friday: 50,000 PDP Supporters March For Wike In Rivers State.

Over 50,000 supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday, staged a peaceful march in the streets of Port Harcourt in appreciation of the good governance of the Rivers State governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
The supporters who were all clad in white were chanting that there is peace in Rivers State. The marched from the party secretariat at Aba Road and terminated at the open field of the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, Rumuola in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, the State Chairman of PDP, Bro Felix Obuah, said the party embarked on the peaceful march to let the world know that there has been peace in the State since Governor Wike took over office as the governor of the State.

“We want to tell the doubting Thomases that there is peace ever since Wike took over the leadership of the state. Wike is working and we will continue to support him,” he said.

According to the PDP Chairman, “In the history of Rivers State, this is the greatest procession I have ever witnessed in all my career in politics, where over 50,000 people walked along the streets of Port Harcourt, for a solidarity rally in appreciation of good governance of Chief Barr Nyesom Wike.

“Some people took a common motion in the National Assembly, asking President Muhammad Buhari to declare a state of emergency, state of emergency cannot be declared in a peaceful state,” he said.

Speaking also at the rally, the member representing Obio/Akpor constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Kinsley Chinda, said the black protest by All Progressives Congress in Port Harcourt on Monday, was aimed at influencing the judgment at the tribunal in Abuja, saying that the judges are seasoned judges who cannot be influenced by giving its ruling based on law and facts.

“We know that what they are doing will not influence the judgment at the court. The judges at the court of Appeal are seasoned judges. They will pass judgment based on laws and facts before them and not based on drama and sentiments,” he stated.
