As Seen In Makurdi Benue State,A Little Girl Selling Fuel.
A friend of mine posted these pictures on Facebook, its a girl between the age of 8-10 selling fuel in Makurdi,my friend was so angry about it this is what he posted.
I seriously understand the level of poverty in the land. But I totally disagree with all forms of child labour especially when it gets to do with school age children selling commodities like petroleum products on the streets. When I saw this little girl within the age of 8-10, I was grieved in my heart seriously. I practically told her I was coming back there tomorrow and if I should find her there selling fuel? I will surely arrest her elder sister who asked her to sell such commodity on her behalf under such harsh weather.
Please let's do all we can to discourage this kind of child labour. Children selling Satchels of water everywhere I can manage to understand that cause water is friendly but not fuel or diesel etc. cause as it seems, she is not only exposed to the hazards of selling fuel alone but soon enough some of these senseless okada boys will start deceiving her and before we all know what's happening, another life may be ruined.
I hope am making any little sense.
