NFF crisis: Giwa writes banks, unveils ‘new’ state FA chairmen
Chris Giwa on Thursday announced ‘new’ chairmen for the state football associations while he also wrote banks warning them not to ‘deal’ with the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee.
These steps were contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, by the club owner who is insisting that a Jos court ruling has made him the new NFF president.
Giwa has been locked in battle with the FIFA recognised Pinnick NFF board since last year when he claimed that the election that brought Pinnick into power was flawed.
The release, signed by Chief Effiong Johnson, Chairman of Chairmen, further “Advised the general public to disregard the so-called outcome of that illegal and contemptuous Emergency Congress. The general public will recall that on the 12th April 2016 the Board of the NFF dissolved all the State FAs including that of the FCT.”
The statement adds that Giwa’s NFF Board “is already taking legal steps to file criminal charges of impersonation against Amaju Pinnick and his cohorts that convened and participated in the purported Emergency Congress in the name of the NFF.”
