Breaking :EFCC traces fresh N500m to Benue speaker's personal account,as commission prepares to arraign 14 lawmakers before a Federal High court in Makurdi.




There is also an alleged fresh discovery of N500 million traced to the account of the speaker of the House of Assembly .


The EFCC was investigating an alleged N750 million when the fresh amount linked to Ikyange was discovered A fresh discovery by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) concerning the alleged fraud rocking the Benue state House of Assembly is believed to have caused apprehension among the politicians and their loyalists.


The EFCC was interrogating some members of the House over the alleged looting of N750 million when it reportedly traced N500 million to the account of the speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange.

Quoting a source at the commission, Nigerian Pilot said the fresh sum was successfully traced through EFCC’s intelligence unit as well as some confessional statements made by the deputy speaker of, James Ikefe, who has reportedly been making useful statements to the agency.

The source was said to have revealed that all the disbursements of the N750 million car scam cash was personally carried out by the deputy speaker adding that a fresh investigation has commenced against the speaker. The source said that after the arraignment of the 14 members before a federal high court in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, the speaker would be invited by the EFCC.

Terkinbi Ikyange; his deputy, James Ikefe; the majority leader, Benjamin Adanyi; deputy majority leader, Nick Eworo; the minority leader, Sule Audu and 10 other members were reportedly detained in Abuja before some of them were granted bail.

Governor Samuel Otorm had last week commended the EFCC adding: “Yes it is a good thing, it is part of the process. They are under investigation by the EFCC. “From day one I brought up a slogan that ‘if you chop money, money will chop you. “We have to be careful and I have sent signals to all that nobody is above the law. If you do wrong, you will go your own way. As far as I’m concerned, they are under investigation. “Let’s see the outcome we would have.

I am laughing very loud. My Freind Bem Abunde the speaker's SA on Media has been mute all this time ,I don't know if his quietness should be taken for Truth. Heheheheheee God has a way of shrinking people who grow wings at the slightest opportunity.
