Leader of IPOB Nnamdi Kanu today 29th July 2016 opened,The Kuje Prison 2016 Championship Competition at the June prisons in FCT where he is been remanded. While declaring it open,Kanu said his man purpose of sponsoring the competition this year was for inmates to have freedom and relate with one another .



The Prison Inmates Association Ex President Sivan Emeka thanked Kanu for the love and concern he has shown towards Inmates,he said the competition is an annual event where most inmates discover their talents and look towards developing them beyond the four walls of the prison.

The Prison Championship is an annual event aimed at fostering peaceful co-existence among inmates and prison officers.
Last year competition was won by Arsenal Prison Team.
