'Okefe will end up in jail because of his greediness'- Former Aide

A former Security Officer of the embattled Benue State Assembly Deputy Speaker, Hon James Ejembi Okefe has revealed more mind-blowing details of the N750 vehicle scam handled by his former boss, according to thenigerianvoice.com.

The contract which is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has rocked the state assembly lately as more details continue to emerge.
The aide who pleaded anonymity via telephone conversation said he believed Hon Okefe will end up in prison because of what he described as “greediness”, that his former boss sometimes even withheld their personal allowances.

“You see this problem of House of Assembly Contract is cause by Okefe greediness. He is criminal and very greedy. God is catching him and he will surely go prison. He is a bad man. Sometimes, he will collect our allowance and not give us anything. We will travel with him and sleep in car, no food, no water and plenty mosquito biting us. One kobo he won’t give us. He is a bad man.”

“For God sake, this is allowance. The money is release to Okefe but he will say he is owing people that he has to use the money to pay credit. Sometime he will beg us that he need the money for treatment.” The aide lamented.

He said he accompanied the vehicles supplied by Hon. Okefe’s company, Mia 3, and had details of all that transpired and would speak to officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC if called upon.

“You see I follow those Prado from Lagos to Makurdi. They are smuggled. No papers. No import duty. Infact two of them are second hand. We take one to painter in Abuja to work the car. I have the painter number and I can give you.

” The chasis number of the car is JTEBX9FJ0FK202760. Any house of assembly member who have this car should return it to Okefe.The car even have accident. It is second hand. We work it in Abuja.

“See those Prados are 2014 model. I know where we go and change the plate to 2015 model. Because the 2014 model finish from market that is why Okefe give Assembly members money instead.The contract is for 2015 Model but they don’t know Okefe buy 2014 model for them. The 2014 model is 9.0 million Naira and refurbish model we buy for 7.5 million. If to say the 2014 model is in the market, all assembly members will have get their cars. That is the whole truth my brother.”

He further recounted their experience while bringing the vehicles from Lagos, saying “The thing that vex me on the road coming, when Custom stop us. We beg and beg and Okefe say he will pay them 600,000 Naira bribe to allow us go. So they say we should write agreement. When we come back Okefe arrest all of us that we are the one that give Custom advance signal. After that he sack all of us. All police and SS with him. He sack all of us that we want to dupe him.”

On the attempts by the State Assembly members to impeach the Speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange, he said “Speaker know nothing about this. He is young and that’s why Okefe is using him. Okefe will give him 10,000 Naira for fuel, Speaker will be happy. But he does not know Okefe have thief 5 million Naira.”

He concluded by saying “Okefe is a bad man. He will bring down this government if Ortom no take care. “
