Senate probes reports on impeachment plot against Buhari

The Senate has initiated moves to probe media reports that it has commenced impeachment plot against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Actually, the matter was raised during plenary on Wednesday by Senator Isa Misau through order 14 and 15.

Misau called the attention of the Senate to a publication in some daily newspaper where the senate was accused of hatching plans to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari.

He alleged that some Senators are behind the publication because journalists and legislative aides were not in the executive session the report were accredited to.

Misau also wondered how the newspapers managed to get some manipulative quotation credited to him during executive session because he was not given opportunity speak during the session.

The Senate President Bukola Saraki noted the complaint and referred the matter to the Committee On Ethics Privileges And Public Petitions.
